We Are Famous (sort of)

We were involved in a film shoot last week.  M played a school child being picked up from school at the end of the day and I played her mom.  She had to come to me and give me a slip of paper (a little note from the school) and then we were interacting with each other on camera.

I asked her how her day was and she told me it was 'Awesome' and then we had to slowly walk out of the playground.  We had to do the same thing over and over again.  We also needed to do it the same way each and every time.

We were filmed doing this scene 18 times.  14 of those times the camera was in the playground and the other four times the camera was outside of the schoolyard gate.

14 times we had to do the scene without making noise.  We had to mouth our lines to each other.  This was to make sure that the main characters could be heard as they walked through the school playground.  On the takes that we were allowed to speak (when the camera was outside of the gate), we had a hard time actually speaking because we were so trained NOT to speak.  It was a fun time.

The film is called Harry and Grace and is a modern day take on Hansel and Gretel.  It explores the father's culpability in what happens to the children. The director of this film is a 13 year old girl who is also home educated.   Here is a 30 second preview of the film - it is the opening scene:

Lighthouse Word Search - Free Printable

This week's Unit Study Roundup is on Lighthouses.  I decided to do a printable word search.

Last week, I also created and shared a word search, here.   I did the same thing by going to Puzzle Maker and I entered the words that I wanted in the lighthouse word search.  This week's words are:

ALERT
BEACON
BEAM
COAST

DANGER
FLASHING
FOG
GUARD

HARBOUR
HAZARDOUS
KEEPER
LIGHTHOUSE

MARINERS
OPERATIONAL
SAFETY
WARNING

For the images I went here and here downloaded them and inserted them into my word search.

This word search has been DD tested and she rates it as  10/10  for difficulty.  I have put the answer sheet on the second page and explained how the answers work.

I saved this on my Google Drive and you can download it here.

Enjoy :D

Moon Word Search - Free Printable

This week's topic for the Unit Study Roundup is Astronauts, Moon, and Space.  I decided to create a word search for this post.

I went to Puzzle Makerand I had a few options for setting up the word search.  I entered the number of words that I wanted to use that all have to do with the moon.

The words that I chose to use for this are:

Crater
Crescent
Eclipse
Full
Gibbous
Gravity
Half
Lunar
New
Orbit
Phases
Quarter
Satellite
Tides
Wane
Wax

For the images, I went to Clip Art Lord and downloaded two free images to use with my word search.  In this case, both images have come from http://openclipart.org/ and Clip Art Lord credits the creator of all of the images that they share.

This word search has been DD tested and she rates it as  10/10  for difficulty.  I have put the answer sheet on the second page and explained how the answers work.

I saved this on my Google Drive and you can download it here.

Enjoy :D
