It has been about a month since I posted anything on here. That does not mean to say that we have not been doing anything, it just means that I've been too busy to post.
We took advantage of the fact that we are not tied to the term schedule and we went to Blackpool on a short mid-week holiday a few weeks back.
While there we went to Ripley's Believe it or Not and Sea Life and *that* was very educational. We learned a lot about sharks and the fish that are in the Irish Sea and the North Atlantic.
I got to see real seahorses and some of their closest living relatives. We learned how to tell a male shark from a female shark (likewise for the seahorses too), and saw clown fish and so much more. We also had a nice little manicure by some cleaner shrimp. You really have to block out the sensation in your hands because it is not for the ticklish!
We enjoyed our little week away and I want to go again but of course I will only go during term time because there are no crowds.
We have finished our geography book on David Livingstone's travels in Africa, and we are going to finish Animal Farm next. We did Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet this year and finished both of those plays.
We started a new Math programme which combines Science and Math, so right away I like that! We have finished studying Caravaggio's paintings and now we have moved onto Delacroix's paintings. We are finished with Vivaldi and now we are onto Chopin.
We have been enjoying gorgeous weather and we will start doing our lessons outside when the days are nice.
L had book group this month along with her monthly radio show and she loves it.
Now it's Easter weekend and it is absolutely glorious weather, it's actually t-shirt weather! It must be warm if I can go out in a t-shirt :-)
Have a Hoppy Easter and I hope the weather is nice where you are!
